We are proud to celebrate the recognition of two outstanding Master’s theses linked to sustainable mobility, recently awarded at the national Premios Abertis.
These projects reflect the type of applied research that urban mobility needs today: rigorous, data-driven and focused on solving real operational and societal challenges in transport systems.
🔹 On one hand, the master thesis developed by Miquel Roger de la Torre (winner) develops a novel methodology to explore the trade-off between housing and transportation costs, aiming at supporting equitable decision-making.
🔹On the other hand, Celia López Yarza’s (finalist) master thesis proposes an innovative, AI-based method for estimating the value of (travel) time by considering boundary conditions and individual needs, to move towards more inclusive and personalised mobility solutions.
Both projects, which were directed by our colleague Margarita Martínez Díaz, show how academic research can generate methods, tools and knowledge with a direct impact on cities, transport networks and people’s everyday lives.
🎓 In BIT-Barcelona Innovative Transportation, we are committed to training professionals capable of combining technical excellence, innovation and sustainability to shape the future of urban mobility.
👏 Congratulations to Miquel and Celia for this well-deserved recognition, and to all those who continue pushing research forward in the field of sustainable mobility.
